Hey Magic Maker. If you have been rocking these tips then you likely have noticed that they are having big impacts on your life and business. These small changes and shifts will help you to thrive so you can be like Fee and live a life that’s completely free.
I used to be kind of a hot mess. Hopping from one idea to the next and getting super excited about something and then losing interest before I finished it was what I did. Setting myself up for success every work day is something I’ve gotta do or else I’ll be like this lyric in Freeker by the Speaker by Keller Williams…
Human dreidel spinning around
How to you not dizzy out and fall down
Speaking of music, the sounds I hear have a huge impact my focus and productivity. Did you know that there’s music aids the ADHD brain to be more productive and focused? I know!!! Blew my mind too.

ADHD Superpower Business Tip: Create a Work Day Playlist
We all love music, which is why it’s really important to create the perfect workday playlist that will help to increase your productivity!
The modern workplace can look so many different ways. Maybe you are lucky to have a quiet office with minimal distractions and silence, but chances are your neighbor might be doing construction, or maybe there are kids running around and there are distracting sounds, or your workplace could be a busy coffee shop or maybe you are working on the train or maybe you’re like me and you share an office with your husband who often has meetings.
That’s why it’s really important to create a playlist that will help you to eliminate distractions that you hear. The right playlist can also help to boost productivity while you’re working because whether you realize it or not disruptive background noise increases stress, which raises your cortisol level, inhibits dopamine to parts of your brain associated with memory and complex thought.
For people like us with ADHD that are more attuned to their surroundings, it is even greater of a distraction, and can actually cause a total shutdown. Even though you might not realize it, disrupting sounds in the background can cause you to be unproductive and actually shut down the creativity part of your brain. And that’s the last thing you want to happen, especially while you’re working hard on building a really cool and unique business! That is why playlists are so important, so here are some tips. Some may resonate with you, and some may not!
1.Tune into nature. Nature sounds can really help to bring you to that place where you can eliminate the distraction of outside sounds. There is technically still sound but the sounds of nature help to neutralize other distracting noises. There are many lovely options on Spotify or YouTube, like ocean sounds, rain forest noises, babbling brooks, or rain.
2. My next tip is to avoid music that you dislike. I mean that seems pretty obvious, but be really specific when you are choosing music for your workday playlist and make sure that you choose music that you actually like!
3. Lyrics can be distracting, so it’s best to avoid music that has lyrics. I do still recommend that your first song of the day is a song that has lyrics that may speak to your soul, gets you motivated, get you pumped up, and prepares you for your workday. For your first song of the day (that you may use to increase productivity or set the tone of your day) lyrics are ok, but you will likely want to avoid songs that have lyrics in your general workday playlist because they are very likely to distract you.
4. Go upbeat. There are studies that say that if you find music that is 50 to 80 beats per minute, that will help you with your mood and productivity.
5. Video game music makes you productive! The inspiring beats and swoops and Super Mario and the Legends of Zelda can actually help you be more productive! Also, the sounds of a coffee shop are popular, and even though you’d think it would be distracting, there are playlists on Spotify and YouTube that are coffee shop sounds and are known to produce productivity. Try adding one of these to your workday playlist!
Those are some tips to help you to curate your most amazing workday playlist! I made a playlist for you.
