Why You Need to Get Yourself Some New Shoes

This blog was written because I was inspired by a song. I was leading myself in a solo yoga class in St Croix USVI with this view of the Caribbean.
I practiced to my random Pandora station and did sun salutations to Dolly Parton, Ryan Monbleau, Led Zeppelin and the Talking Heads. While I was laying in shavasana the song “New Shoes” by Paolo Nutini came on and I listened to all the words. I really connected with them. You know how sometimes you wake up “on the wrong side of the bed” and just don’t feel like your normal sparkling self? This happens to me too.  What if when you wake up feeling this way instead of whining and sulking and staying in that unhappy place you decided to put on your happy shoes. You might want to go out and buy a new pair of happy shoes or maybe you want to designate a pair you already own as your happy shoes. Your happy shoes should be extremely comfortable and appeal to your style. Your happy shoes have superpowers.
When you put them on it means you consciously decided to take your bad mood and kick it in the ass…hard!When you put on your happy shoes it means you are choosing to be happy.

When you put on your happy shoes you will expect miracles and miracles will happen.

When you put on your happy shoes you will have a bounce in your step and a smile on your face.

That is the power your happy shoes have.

Dance through life with your happy shoes on your feet.

Woke up cold one Tuesday,
I’m looking tired and feeling quite sick,
I felt like there was something missing in my day to day life,
So I quickly opened the wardrobe,
Pulled out some jeans and a T-Shirt that seemed clean,
Topped it off with a pair of old shoes,

But I had to stop from the shock of what I found,
A room full of all off my friends dancing round and round,
And I thought hello new shoes,
Bye bye them blues.

Where bright lights and angels meet,
Stone to stone they take me on,
I’m walking to the break of dawn.

    I have a pair of red, peep-toed pumps that I will now refer to as my super-powered happy heels. Thanks for that.

    Oh and I’m not ashamed to admit that I played with the balloons on the top of this page by scrolling up and down a few times. Thanks for the smiles.

    I know I don’t have to tell you to enjoy every second of that beautiful view!

      Love that you played with the balloons. I’m not ashamed to admit that I do that too <3

      I was addicted to that view. I had a heart to heart with it when I was leaving and promised it I would be back soon.
