The reel is me at work hoping that no one finds out that I’m a live music lovin freak who gets down at festivals. Shhhhhhh.
That used to be my life. The professional Taraleigh pretending that she wasn’t the live music-festival goin-head to toe in sparkles-ragin the rail Taraleigh. I hoped and prayed that no one would find out about my secret life.
Being two people wasn’t working out so well. I wondered what would happen if I merged the two. I stopped wondering and did it. It was so hard at first and I faced a lot of backlash, but holy guacamole was it worth it.
Working for other people didn’t work out so well for me because besides not being accepted for being a ‘hippie’ as my co-workers would call me, my natural way of being wasn’t accepted either. I was constantly getting in trouble or being told that I wasn’t living up to my potential. My brain goes about things differently than other people’s and no matter how hard I tried, it just wouldn’t be normal.
That’s why entrepreneurship was such a great choice for me. I can wear whatever I want, listen to any kind of music I want, take off to go to all the shows I choose, and I get to craft my business in a way that uses the superpowers of my unique brain.
