Hey Magic Maker. I hope you enjoyed your first ADHD Superpower Business Tip! It was so nice to hear from so many of you. These small changes and shifts can make a world of difference.
Since our brains are wired in a unique way, that means that we have to take a unique approach to some things. Instead of looking at yourself as having a disability, I like to look at it as having a different ability. This doesn’t mean that our ADHD doesn’t make us feel down sometimes or that we’ll never feel angry or frustrated about it. You totally will feel that way sometimes! And that’s ok. This is why I choose to spend so much time setting myself up for success– which allows me to feel empowered much more of the time, rather than defeated. I want to share everything I’ve learned with you so you can rock your unique and amazing brain. Weeeeeeee!
I’m successful now because I embraced the magical parts of my ADHD and made them work for me as my superpowers instead of as my kryptonite.
Each week this month I’m going to be bringing tips for people with ADHD so all their business dreams come true. Want to learn how to use your ADHD as one of your superpowers too? If so, keep reading.
ADHD Superpower Business Tip: Create Fake Urgency
Many of the tasks you need to get done don’t have specific deadlines. When you don’t have a specific deadline you may keep putting the thing off. That’s why faking urgency can help. If you have a newsletter you have to write that you know will take you about 30 minutes, wait until 35 minutes before you have a phone date with a friend (or something scheduled), and start writing.
Individuals like us with ADHD will find that they will feel much more motivated and be better able to stay on task because they know that they ‘need’ to be done in 35 minutes.
Good luck! If you have a question or need support, or want to let me know how this resonates with you, send me a message HERE. I love hearing from you!
XOXO,
Taraleigh
