Summer festival and tour season is underway. Yay!!!!
When I was craving a life that felt as good as life feels at a festival, I didn’t know where to begin. The easiest place for me was to start changing the foods on my plate from fried and processed to naturally colorful and whole.
I thought, “Those foods are the ones that will help me feel good and raise my vibe on a daily basis.”
It worked and shortly after, other parts of my life that didn’t feel good started to weed themselves out until eventually, I felt as good as I was feeling in this photo on a daily basis.
Bonus: It improved my festival experience too.
On Instagram I announced that I’ll be offering a 30 Day Boot Camp for Live Music Fans and I asked my followers what they’d like to see. Easy, quick and healthy recipes, fun workouts, guided meditations and dance parties were the most popular answers. When asked what holds them back from being healthy on a consistent basis, the responses I got were time, motivation, ideas and accountability. Yesterday on Instagram, I shared what I had for breakfast and lunch. Here are those recipes.
Grapefruit and Greens with Juice (Best when made to the Ween song Bananas and Blow)
Ingredients:
1 large grapefruit
2 hard boiled eggs
1-2 handfuls of spring mix, spinach or any kind of salad green
Balsamic vinaigrette (I used Annie’s organic) Oil and balsamic vinegar would be delicious too
Directions:
Salad
Place greens on a plate and dress them
Slice eggs and place them on top
Peel and cut half a grapefruit into little pieces
Juice
Take remaining grapefruit and put it in a blender with some water and blend until juicy
Seedy Yogurt (Best when listening to Phish…because Phish tour!!!)
Ingredients:
1 small container of yogurt (I used Kite Hill Almond Milk yogurt)
3 table spoons of seeds (I am seed cycling so right now since I’m on the second half of my moon cycle I had sunflower and sesame. You can use pumpkin, flax or any seeds you like)
1 banana
A few berries
Directions
Open and empty yogurt into a bowl and mix
Layer seeds on top
Slice banana and artistically place it in the bowl
Decorate with berries
