I remember when I visited Dreaming Mountain in Vermont and gave them my deposit to host my first ever retreat. I had never been on a retreat before much less led one, but I felt a strong feeling in my gut that said, “Do this!”
Even though the thought of leading a retreat scared the sparkles out of me, I thought about what I would want to do on retreat and asked Ryan Montbleau if he would want to be a part of it even though I didn’t know exactly what it was going to be yet. We did it, we didn’t die and it was a life shifting huge hit. So huge in fact that the next retreat we did together in Vermont sold out in six days in the dead of winter.
If you want to do something and you feel like you don’t know what you’re doing, perfect! No one ever knows what they’re doing when they first start out. The difference between them and people that always talk about the thing they want to do and never do it is that they did it even though they had no idea what they were doing.
