Post-show/festival Blues in an epidemic in the live music scene. One of the biggest questions I’m asked is how to beat it. The truth is that you can’t beat it. Festivals and shows are where I go to recharge my life battery. It’s where I feel such extreme natural highs that I almost take off into space. When you experience a high so grand you eventually have to come down.
After a festival it’s important to surrender into that low that you’re going to feel. Know that it’s a natural human experience. Practice radical self-care. Take naps. Go to bed early. Take a yoga class. Read. Watch cheesy movies that make you laugh. Eat really nourishing food. Write down what you’re grateful for.
There’s another tool I use and it’s called a daily mini-festival. Everyday I go to one. Your mini-festival can be whatever you want it to be and it can last as long or as short as you want. Sometimes I put on my headphones and rage it to my favorite song. Other times I call a festie bestie and connect. I dance in my bedroom, in the bathroom, down the street and in my shower. I wear sparkly clothes daily. I put glitter on my face.
When you go to a mini-festival daily you will start to be your own festival and then life will feel like a festival and re-entry into the “real” world won’t feel so harsh. Try it!
What will you do today at your mini-festival?
Let’s inspire each other. Leave a comment with your mini-festival plan and then share this post.
The awesome in me sees and bows to the awesome in you,
