This used to be my morning.
I woke up and rolled over to grab my cell phone. I checked my emails. I mindlessly scrolled through my Facebook feed. Eventually I rolled out of bed and made my way to my computer. I would start working right away still in a sleepy fog. I would half ass work all morning. I would realize what time it was and jump up while in a major computer haze, run around my house like a maniac trying to get everything together for lunch, brush my teeth (because I forgot to earlier,) pee (holy moly I had to go so bad,) realize I don’t have time to shower, make lunch or walk into town to meet my husband for lunch so I drive and buy lunch and I stink.
I totally fell off my unicorn!
Sound familiar in your own personal way?
I started a morning routine and it shifted my morning in a major way. I decided I was going to party!
Some of my favorite times in life have happened because of music so now I start everyday with it.
I created about 20 stations on Pandora radio from Phish to Michael Jackson to Dolly Parton to Michael Buble to Ryan Montbleau to Bon Jovi to Taylor Swift to Krishna Das to Zumba Radio. There is the option to shuffle all of your stations and I select that option. I let the Universe pick the song that becomes my theme for the day. Sometimes I get up and dance to it. Sometimes I lie in bed with my eyes closed and listen to it. Sometimes I slowly move my body to the beat. Sometimes I get dressed to it. Sometimes I sing in the shower to it. If you don’t have Pandora you can just shuffle your ipod, pick a random tape or close your eyes and pick a vinyl from your collection.
It’s a simple little way to start your morning with a joy party instead of a pity party.
What’s your song of the day? Let me know in the comments section.
November 19-21st I want to dance with you.
Nothing beats that high you feel when the lights go down and your favorite band plays their first note, but we’re going to try.
Unfortunately we can’t be at a music festival 365 days a year and sometimes we all get caught up in the day to day. Join me and thousands of other live music lovers for the 3 Day Morning Dance Party and let’s shake things up like we’re at a show.
All you need to do is sign up, check your inbox on Nov 19th for the first video, set aside three minutes to move your body and put on (or take off) your party pants. If you feel stuck in your routine it’s time to get out of the ditch party and into the life is good party. You’ve got nothing to lose except for the blues.

The awesome in me sees and bows to the awesome in you,
Sometimes we all fall off our unicorns. When I do…I dance!

My 6 year old daughter got me into the Taylor Swift song Shake it off this past weekend. Today we listened to it getting her ready for school. It was stuck in my head so I listened to it on my drive into work…. 4 times in a row. 🙂 LOL I am in such a good mood now and I had so much fun singing and shaking in the car. FUN!
Love this! I tried to shuffle with my Spotify songs, but I just had to pick my own. If I listen to Stevie Wonder’s Happy Birthday in the morning… I’m not only on my unicorn, I am my unicorn!
Nelly, Hot in Here!
