An energy vampire is a person in your life that sucks the positive energy out of you leaving you completely drained and unable to carry out the goals you’ve set for yourself. They also go by emotional vampires. These people constantly blame other people for their circumstances, complain about life, are self-centered and when you are done dealing with them, you are left physically and mentally exhausted. Does any of this sound familiar? I thought so. Don’t let an energy vampire bite you in the neck and drink all of your positive life blood. Don’t do it. Take your power back.
Being a happy nice person sometimes makes you an easy target for an energy vampire. They want your happy blood. They have been known to manipulate their way into your life and suck the energy out of you until there is no more to take before moving on. When you feel an energy vampire is in your life sucking your energy, grab your stake and stab them in the heart with you sparkling stake of light and send them on their way. They are using you. They will leave you feeling weak.
How do you slay an energy vampire?
1. End conversations that suck your energy.
2. Do not join the pity party.
3. Do not gossip.
4. Do not condone and energy vampire’s behavior.
5. Never take anything they say personally no matter how personal it feels.
6. Stick to the loving boundaries you have set for yourself.
7. Confront them if necessary in a loving way and release them from your life if possible.
8. If they are related to you, put on your Imaginary Glittery Protective Armor
9. Buy a ticket on the “No Can Do Train” (Keep reading to find out the train schedule).
10. If All else fails, ignore them completely.
Repeat this three times and say it loud and proud.
